MAM! Brought to you by the words “vaccine, vaccines, and vaccinate!” For real though, click on any of these words on her blog and you’ll see how she $hills.
Let’s get started in proving MAM to be a lying liar.
“I don’t relish in writing this post. In fact, I seriously wish I didn’t need to."
If you don’t relish writing the post, and wish you didn’t have to, then just don’t. Is there a gun to your head? No one even cares dude.
Here is where she lies.
“ I was given my first ban….I dared to comment on my own profile this phrase: “Please help her get informed. She needs to know the truth." This did not name, but was referring to the Ohio AAP CEO.”
THAT was NOT what earned you your ban you lying liar. Though you are referring to the correct post of yours that earned the ban, you are blatently lying about what that post said. You DID name the CEO by her full name, posted her email address, and accused her of having nothing but contempt for anti-vaxers. You then claimed she believed to be superior to those who opposed HB559, accused her of being unqualified and too gullible to put any work in to this issue, and told your minions to “not allow her to intimidate you.” You then said, and I quote, “In fact, I encourage everyone to email her with as many studies as you have about vaccines. She should be informed.” I’ll provide the screen shot just under this paragraph for you to see for yourself. I did however redact the woman’s name and email address since she doesn’t need any more harassment because of you. If you’d like to see the version without redaction I’d be more than happy to send it to you through email. By the way, wouldn’t it be more effective to email her studies that are accurate rather that “as many studies as you have?”
“In their version, the Ohio AAP was just minding their own business, working tirelessly to improve the lives of children everywhere, when I, irrationally and unprovoed, started viciously attacking them…I want to sell them false hopes and snake oils….”
Did you use enough shock words there? Here’s the thing, the Ohio AAP was minding it’s own business. It’s business is medical care on behalf of children. This bill is literally Ohio AAP’s business. Even so, they were not posting on your pages, messaging you, contacting you or your followers, nor were they in or around any AVer pages or groups. No one accused you of attacking the AAP. Harassing maybe, but I agree that’s open to interpretation. Your “attack” however was from when you decided to sic your army on them, especially on the CEO. I do believe you did this for reasons that are outside of most people’s normal thinking. This is an obsession you have with asserting your simple minded rationalizations about the things you don’t understand. Then when no one wants to hear your beliefs, or expresses doubts with your “beliefs,” you call foul with claims of persecution. Oh, and you do want to sell people false hopes and snake oils. You have a whole website dedicated to such sales!
"I do care if they are trying to limit families’ rights."
No one is trying to touch your exemption rights. Not even AAP, though I do believe they should. This bill simply wants to ensure that parents understand the risks involved with refusing vaccinations, and have the facts on vaccine safety. Just because you don’t like what these “experts” (your word for them on your last post!) have to say doesn’t suddenly make you less ignorant.
“Anyone who asked why comments were being deleted, was deleted, and they were banned. Some people who simply reacted to posts with an angry face were banned too.
This is incredibly unprofessional behavior from an organization that is supposed to be about public health."
AAP can monitor their Facebook page any way they deem fit. They are not beholden to you. They are their own organization, and they act on behalf of the medical rights of YOUR CHILDREN, and of all children. They. Owe. You. Nothing.
“They need to be able to navigate these situations by allowing people to have their say, or responding nicely along the lines of, “Thanks for your opinion, be we disagree because…"
They don’t “need” to navigate for your feelings. They only need to navigate medicine on behalf of YOUR CHILDREN.
“I don’t expect they will actually change their stance."
Why not? Any doctor will change their view when faced with scientifically proven data that demonstrates how they’re wrong, and what is now proving to be correct. The problem is that you don’t have this science Kate.
“But they’re not responding professionally; they’re just deleting people. (Something that I get criticized for doing constantly, by the way.)"
You catch shit for deleting people and then posting about how dumb everyone else is. We don’t care that you delete. We just find the hypocrisy sickening.
“Regardless of how the Ohio AAP feels, however, we, as citizens, have every right to weigh in on new bills that would limit our choices. It’s called being politcally active. Surely they don’t expect to push a new bill through unopposed?"
YES! Citizens have the right,….No, they have the DUTY to weigh in on proposed legislation! Honestly, I’d be pissed if you didn’t! However, posting a call to arms for your tens of thousands of alleged followers and members to bombard a CEO who doesn’t even know who you are, all because the AAP DARED to not allow you a forum to spread your fallacies, is NOT weighing in on legislation. It’s not being politically active. It’s behaving in a spoiled, childish, tantrum like manner, and it’s making this personal. They also expect opposition! Everything will have opposition! But they have a right to expect it in the proper forum, and without on-line harassment.
“Several troll groups got involved. In their version of the story, beyond my vicious and unprovoked attack (see above or what I said…), I have continued to bully and harass people, and I am mentally unbalanced."
You are continuing to bully and encourage on-line harassment though. You have a post up right now in your group of 25k members requesting your members to report my profile, and Sally Newton’s profile without cause. You are giving out the orders for your 25k member army to seek us out on Facebook and report us solely on your behalf, even though we never even reached out to you. You posted both our names in this group of 25k, then you posted screen shots, without redaction, of comments made by us and/or our associates, for the purpose of your members seeing who is saying what, so they can act accordingly. No one said you were still harassing AAP at the moment, just that you were still using your minions to bully people on Facebook.
“They have created several new Favcebook groups and pages dedicatec to me. I won’t link them, but I will name some…”
Ok, only one page is new, and one page is mostly focused on you.
Pro HB559 is new and dedicated to our support of HB559.
NO MAM is not dedicated to YOU, but it is focused on the dangerous advice you dole out. Basically, it’s dedicated to providing truth to counteract the nonsense you post as truth.
What’s the Harm? Is not dedicated to you, nor new really. You merely inspired it’s creation a year ago, and I believe we even sent you a thank you letter for that (no really, it was a thank you letter!). However the page covers a variety of issues and charlatans.
I am unfamiliar with Modern Science Mama. I don’t think I’ve ever even been on the page but I’ll be sure to check it now.
Banned By MAM’s Ghost is years old, and has had no activity in well over a year. I don’t even know who created the page.
The remaining pages are self explanatory since they have way more followers than we do at the moment (though thanks to you we received a huge bump this past week!). However, they aren’t our pages.
“On these pages, they ….call me names, slander me. They use fake profiles to sneak into my group and onto my pagers, and they use these profiles to take screenshots.”
I’ll be honest, I’m sure some people call you names on our pages, and we do have sock accts. However, no one slanders you. First of all, it would be libel if anything. Second of all, it’s only libel if it’s knowingly false, and we know it’s not.
We do take screen shots at times. However, NO ONE will ever be able to harass anyone from such screen shots since we are very careful to remove all identifying information from every image.
You’re missing the main point though Kate. We don’t care about YOU. We care about the harm you are causing, and the harm you risk causing. We care when you spread incorrect information or advise people in matters of health. Not only are you dangerous, but you don’t have a right to advise anyone medicinally. You aren’t licensed. As for you personally, you could wake up and decide to sell jewelry tomorrow and we’d never even type your name again. This isn’t personal like that. And the only victims we see are those without a voice, children, the sick, and the elderly. We are not victims. You could never victimize us.
“I would never attack or belittle someone for their choices."
You mock PVers all the time, and you belittle all kinds of people on a daily basis. We don’t care about this though. You can mock a mother all day long for choosing formula if you want. What really bothers us though is when you threaten to ban your followers for suggesting an ER visit to a mom who has a very ill child. We don’t care if you’re mean. We care when you’re dangerous.
“The point where I get involves is where they try to encroach on my rights."
We “bullies” are more concerned about the rights of your children than we are about your rights. You can get 1,000 vaccinations in a day, or never get one again for all we care. We are only acting as advocates for those who don’t have a voice, your children (someone should be!), our children, the elderly, the sick, and the immunocompromised. It’s these groups of people who you are placing in unnecessary risk of vaccine preventable diseases. What’s worse is that you are doing so based on this manufactured belief system of yours that vaccines come with some huge risk.
“I encourage everyone to flood the AAP with letters about your disappointment in their conduct.”
Is this about your butthurt over the AAP undermining your self entitled expectation to be granted an audience anywhere you go on social media? Or is this about stopping HB559? Why would you first list for people to scold the AAP expressing “disappointment in their conduct?” What does that have to do with HB559?
“I also encourage everyone to seriously consider if you will allow the medical industry to treat you this way. As public servants, they need to be able and willing to work with families from all walks of life."
The only obligation the medical community has is to act on the best interest of the patient. Sadly, they are now having to do this in spite of some parents rather than because of some parents. They don’t have to work with you if you are wrong. They aren’t public servants either! Do you know what a public servant is? It’s a government official. The medical community are not government officials. There are some government officials who are medically trained, but the majority of the medical community is not employed by the government nor paid by your tax dollars.
“We should not be forced to accept mainstream medicine as an “all or nothing."
No one is trying to force anyone to accept anything at the cost of all other options. This isn’t even about you! It’s about leaving kids exposed. Also, let’s not dramatize this into one of your imagined persecutions.
“Western medicine deserves credit where credit is due, but it is not the be-all-end-all of life."
Modern medicine deserves credit for a multitude of reasons, vaccines being one huge reason. Again I reiterate that we don’t care what you choose for yourself. We also don’t care how you feed your kids, so long as you feed them. By all means deny all medical intervention for yourselves, and take preventative measures with your children through a healthy diet! That’s all fantastic. However, you don’t have a right to decide you are smart enough to make important medical decisions on behalf of minors that come with a huge risk of affecting those minors and the rest of the public. You don’t have a right to insist to me or anyone else that you are informed enough to make this choice because you conducted your own google searches. You also don’t have a right to claim to have a scientific and/or analytical mind when you have said on numerous occasions that you will never, ever allow vaccinations for your family. You’ve already closed your mind off to any and all new information to come. After all, the science is never settled, right (something ALL scientists adhere to! There will always be something new to discover and learn! New information doesn’t always affect a scientific conclusion, but it is always a cause for recalculation.)?
If you are new to this, or if you are like MAM, I implore you to not do your own research unless you have a scientific background and/or education. If you don’t have such experience, then I strongly suggest seeking a scientific education. It’s really easy to do and it’s free. There are probably hundreds of universities and colleges that offer free online courses for anyone to audit. You won’t be given college credit for the course, nor will you obtain a degree this way, but you will learn from a trusted source and the material will be accurate. Most sites allow you to take courses at your own pace, although some are available to be taken on a schedule. Personally I do best with the scheduled courses than I do when left to my own devices. I require the structure if I have any hope of completing a course. I realize that becoming formally educated on such matters is work and will take time. However, aren’t your children worth it? Do you really want to be left to educate yourself in front of google as both the teacher and the student with no one to help you navigate your way through the never-ending stream of information, and through so many things you don’t yet understand? Don’t your children deserve a truly informed and educated guardian making important health decisions on their behalf? This is only if you insist on being as informed as possible. After all, you can just trust the professionals who already took these courses, and passed the courses. You have so much to do every day by raising a child or children, it’s perfectly acceptable to default some choices to the advice of the experts. Whatever you decide just please don’t settle on the advice of a mommy blogger with a personal agenda and who just lied to all her readers in her latest post.
